RIM developing self-run BlackBerry music service
RIM is in the process of developing its own BlackBerry-themed music service with a unique tie-in, tipsters unearthed on Thursday. The company is believed to have at least one deal among the top four music labels and negotiating the rest. A rumor late Monday conveniently pushed back the iPad 3 out of a questionable 2011 release window. Apple was supposedly due to ship the tablet in limited numbers in 2011 but has cancelled all orders until 2012. Tips to Digitimes claimed that it was due to poor production yields of the 2048x1536 display, which makes it too expensive at Sharp and just isn't enough to meet goals at LG and Samsung....

In a finding that won't surprise many developers, Android users were 29 percent more likely to prefer saving their money, while iPhone users were 26 percent more likely to prefer spending their money....
AT&T on Friday said it had filed eight lawsuits in federal court to stop an arbitration-based campaign to try to halt the buyout of T-Mobile. The suits, filed in each of the eight areas where law firm Bursor and Fisher was launching its anti-merger efforts, allege that the attempts violate the terms of AT&T's arbitration cases. Although individuals are making arbitration cases, they're demanding penalties that would apply to a class action, claims AT&T, and are supposedly violating terms that bar making more than individual claims....
Apple's Smart Cover for the iPad 2 has been trademarked as a name in most of the major territories where Apple does business -- the U.S., Canada, Europe and China -- but the company is moving to file a "figurative" trademark on the design, a patent filing in China discovered by Patently Apple shows. Should the patent be granted, Apple would be in a position to pursue litigation against "knock off" imitators....
